Health is more than just feeling good, it also involves a safe and healthy work environment, i.e. access to protective equipment, toilets and clean water.

INDISKA has a responsibility and a strong focus on a safe and healthy shop and production environment, that we are a company where employees are happy, healthy and can develop, and that our finished products are safe to use. Therefore, our code of conduct and our work with health includes everything from ensuring that our suppliers’ factories are safe and healthy to work in, that the necessary protective equipment is in place for our product testing, and that we ensure that no hazardous chemicals are present.

Chemicals are an important and broad issue in our industry, and we are active in several ways to reduce the proportion of chemicals in general at our suppliers (read more here). This is also an important issue when it comes to our products and what they contain.

For example, on-site in India, we work together with our suppliers regarding working environments. Through long-term change work, much has happened, which has led to production environments that we and our suppliers are proud of. Through our regular checks we still sometimes find things that can, and should be, addressed. Where there is a willingness for change, that is where we stay.

In India, it is estimated that 1,000 children die every day from diarrhoea caused by impure water or insufficient sanitation and hygiene. Access to toilets, knowledge about hygiene and clean water contribute to people’s survival, health, security, education and the possibility to support themselves. That is why for some years now we have been supporting WaterAid in their vital work in creating access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene in India.

The fact that we have diversity among our own staff, where we are doing well and developing in our roles and as people is also important. With the catchwords, warmth, responsibility, courage and simplicity, today there are nearly 700 people working within INDISKA.
